...how to do CPD your way.

After reading issue 11 of The Navigator we know that CPD is about fulfilling your sense of duty as a professional person. But how can we access relevant information easily in our spare time?

In the previous NavInspire post, you were given an internet directory that may help you begin to invest in you and your career. Now you can move on to the range of services that the Institute offers, such as the Alert! library.

The Alert! library can be found at: http://www.he-alert.org/ and consists of 350 media articles. Together, this material is a valuable and searchable resource for naval architects, mariners, engineers, port operators, regulators and insurers. We encourage all users to explore this library of knowledge and to apply human element principles to ship design and operation. Fatigue, health, risk management, design, accidents and training are all subjects you can find within the Alert! library.

In your spare time, watch the short videos, read the centre spreads or download a bulletin. The time actually spent doing any CPD activity is something that you can decide for yourself. But remember to keep a record of your CPD activity to track your progress and keep you focused on achieving your targets. Comment below or use the hashtag #NavInspire and let us know how you invest in yourself.
