Examination of the meaning of the term human error, what may cause it and the importance of improving non-technical skills.

Human error is a general term which covers a variety of unsafe acts, omissions, behaviours and unsafe conditions or a combination of these. It indicates that the individual should have acted in a different manner. Most causes of human error are not related to an individual's technical skills and knowledge.
