Four of our members receive the Merchant Navy Medal
The dedication to safety, wellbeing, training, diversity and inclusion are a shining example for us all.
On the 3rd of September we celebrated Merchant Navy Day, to remember and honour the hard work of all the unsung seafarers who tirelessly support the majority of trade around the world.
Today, we would like to extend our special congratulations to the nine seafarers who received the Merchant Navy Medal this year. Their contributions on safety, wellbeing, training and diversity reflect the high standards our industry proudly maintains.
As an organisation that promotes and supports the highest standards for safety and education in our industry, we are extremely proud that four of our members received the Merchant Navy Medal this year for their exceptional services to the maritime industry:
Steven Jones FRSA AFNI - for his services to safety, welfare and training
Captain Richard Kirkby MNI - for his services to support, welfare and rescue
Capt. Jerry Mooney MNM AFNI AFRIN - for his services to innovation, training and education
Captain Louise Sara AFNI - for her services to welfare, safety, diversity and inclusion
You are an inspiration to all of us.
Thank you for your services to the industry.
