CEO John Lloyd present the 2023 Lüddeke Prize to Rei Misa

Nautical Institute CEO John Lloyd was proud to present the 2023 Lüddeke Prize to Rei Misa yesterday onboard THV Galatea in London.

Along with the prestigious award, Rei received a cash prize of £750, up to £250 of books from the Nautical Institute’s publication list and two years of free Nautical Institute membership.

Our Maritime Careers and Opportunities event at London International Shipping Week with Trinity House and Merchant Navy Training Board was a robust discussion of the challenges and opportunities in maritime education and careers, the perfect environment in which to celebrate Reis' achievements.

The Lüddeke Prize is granted to students who demonstrate excellence in their academic or practical studies, and who make an active contribution to the extra-curricular activities of their maritime institution.

Rei impressed us all with his excellent academic work and proactive engagement with extracurricular activities in his studies for an MSc in Maritime Operations Management at Liverpool John Moores University.
