Acts of Bravery at Sea

Two weeks left for the IMO’s annual call for nominations for their annual award that honours exceptional bravery at sea.

In 2024, The Nautical Institute was honoured that one of our certified Dynamic Positioning Operators, Captain Jorge Fernando Galaviz Fuentes, was honoured as one of the recipients.  His outstanding shiphandling and incredible bravery conducting the rescue of six seafarers whilst in hurricane conditions is testament to the amazing selflessness of many mariners.
