06/024 - Fast Container in North Sea

Scenario
On a North Sea rotation on fast container V/L. Four- five ports in 4-5 days, ports with long manoeuvring hours due to river Passages such as Hamburg, Antwerp etc.

1. As a master, right from the time we come to English Channel and until the time you are out, there is hardly any rest.

2. God forbid, if fog is there then rest periods are totally forgotten with bridge team levels at II or III.?

3. In port, PSC and Inspector River police come at odd hours to check rest hours. They could very well calculate and know the hours from ships movement book or timing record.
