Gorgon is one of the world's largest LNG projects and the largest single resource project in Australia's history. Located on Barrow Island – a Class A Nature Reserve – Gorgon comprises a 3-train, 15.6 million tonnes per annum LNG facility with a domestic gas plant to supply Western Australia with domestic gas.
The LNG plant is one part of the Gorgon gas project, which includes the Greater Gorgon gas fields, subsea gas gathering infrastructure, and the Gorgon LNG Terminal.

Now retired, Captain Reid started his career with BP tankers, leaving as 2nd Mate after ten years to join BP’s offshore fleet - involved in diving and construction.
In 1985 he joined the world of ‘Floatelling’ reaching the rank of Master before becoming Marine Superintendent, and eventually VP Operations.
In 2008 John left to establish a marine consultancy firm in Aberdeen and after four years took a company internal transfer which allowed a business opportunity in Perth, Australia. John was appointed CEO at the Offshore Marine Services Alliance (OMSA) which was established to provide logistics for the transport of construction materials in the building of Chevron’s Gorgon LNG plant on Barrow Island, Western Australia. The project ended in 2016.
