Fleetwood Seminar 2025: Enclosed Spaces - entry and rescue
The North West England & North Wales Branch of The Nautical Institute is pleased to announce this year's Fleetwood Seminar will explore the perils and pitfalls of enclosed spaces on board ships.
It is hoped the seminar, which will be based on the Fleetwood Nautical Campus (FNC), will improve delegates' understanding of the essential operational issues and strategic oversight required when entering into - and rescuing from - an enclosed space. With practical demonstrations at the Lancashire Industrial Fire Training Centre (LIFT) (delivering FNC's own non-STCW course, designed in consultation with leading experts in the field), the seminar should be interactive and immersive as well as informative.
The day will finish with an optional dinner at the North Euston Hotel in Fleetwood (for which prior booking through the branch is required).
Students and cadets will be in attendance, so it will be a fantastic opportunity to engage the next generation of maritime professionals tasked with dealing with these challenges head on - in hopefully safer conditions.
Please note that this is an in-person only event, and places are limited.
